situated on a 400 acre Island on the East Mao River just outside Shanghai, China. The course occupies former paddy lands that were below the water elevation of the surrounding river. Some 1 million cubic metres of soil were moved (by hand) in order to provide visual and topographic relief for the course and in order to ensure positive drainage. The water levels for the lakes are lower than the surrounding river and large lift pumps are required to discharge water during heavy rainstorms. The course has been well received in Shanghai and hosted the Shanghai Open in 1997.

Special holes include the par 4 15th hole (voted the best par 4 in Asia), the par 5 5th (voted the best par 5 in Asia) and the par 4 17th.
